QK Radio is a registered Australian charity. Our apps are free, contain no advertising, and are built to collect as little data as possible. We do not sell, rent or trade any user data — ever.
Nothing personally identifying. The app has no accounts, no sign-in, and no analytics or advertising SDKs.
Push notifications: if notifications are enabled, the app registers an anonymous device token with Google Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver station announcements. This token identifies the app installation, not you.
Location is used only on your phone — to point the Qibla compass and, if you choose a custom calculation method, to compute prayer times locally. Your location is never sent to our servers.
Microphone (Android) is used only to animate the play-button glow with the live audio level. No audio is recorded, stored or transmitted.
Camera is used only for the augmented-reality Qibla finder, processed entirely on the device.
Prayer tracking (which prayers you've marked as prayed) and all settings are stored only on your device.
If you own a QK Radio device and use the app to set it up or control it, the app talks to the device directly over your own Wi-Fi network. If you share your prayer-time settings with the device, they (including coordinates, if you chose a custom location) go to your device on your network — not to us.
Listening to the live stream connects your device to our servers, which — like any web server — receive your IP address and app version in standard connection logs used for operating and securing the service and for aggregate listener statistics.
Our apps are suitable for general audiences and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
